Pedestrian Bridge Presentation on Nov 28, 9-10:30 a.m.

The community is invited to attend a presentation on the Northgate Pedestrian Bridge Project next Tuesday, Nov. 28, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The presentation will be held in the North Star Dining Room on the North Seattle College campus and members of SDOT's project team will be on hand to discuss the bridge project and answer questions.

NSC and Kogakuin University: Bridging the Gap through Academic Cooperation

Kogakuin University may be 4,779 miles from North Seattle College (NSC), but the relationship formed by these academic institutions makes the two feel right next door to each other.

Kogakuin is a private university located in Tokyo, Japan, established in 1887 and serves approximately 6,530 students. “Kogakuin” means “Institute of Engineering” or “Institute of Technology”.  

NSC and Kogakuin University entered into an academic agreement in 2014, with the objective of promoting both a friendly relationship and academic cooperation between the two institutions.

Admissions Workshops for Prospective Students

To help prospective students navigate the admissions process, North’s Enrollment Office is hosting weekly Admissions Workshops on campus in HSSR 1540A (the Health Sciences and Student Resources building). The workshops provide prospective students with support on everything from financial aid to selecting an area of study. Attendees can register for the workshops through an online form.

A compelling feature-length documentary, focusing on female inmates, their journeys and one Seattle detective who made a world of difference by simply posing a question and caring, will be shown at North Seattle College on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 12 p.m. in the Baxter Events Center, CC1349A (College Center building, 1st floor).

Active Learning Classroom

North Seattle College (NSC) has been selected to receive the installation of an active learning classroom through the Active Learning Center (ALC) program, a grant initiative in its third year founded by Steelcase Education.

With the installation of a classroom valued at $65,000, NSC will positively impact teaching and support education for students eager to learn.

The classroom includes modern movable furniture, design, onsite training, installation, and a pre- and post-occupancy measurement tool.
