Rocketry Club Advises Middle Schoolers at Round Up

NSC Rocketry Club at Odle Middle School

Four members of the North Seattle College Rocketry Club participated in the Odle Middle School (Bellevue) Rocket Round Up event on March 26.

Outgoing club president Sicoya Bellis was joined by incoming club president Kelly Souza and club members Carolina Gutierrez and Drew Olson. All four helped with judging and advising on the middle school students’ The American Rocketry Challenge (TARC) rockets, as well as representing the rocketry club and North Seattle College at their table, which was located among other tables with Boeing and Blue Origin staff members, as well as the University of Washington rocketry team.

Odle Middle School engineering teacher and rocketry club advisor Brendan Williams said, “I appreciate the participation of college clubs [like NSC’s] at the round-up because our students can see what they might be doing in several years.”

Williams led a tour for the North Seattle students of the different resources in the engineering classroom at Odle. It was a great day of learning and sharing Tree Frog knowledge with the rocketry students of tomorrow!
