Carol Williams: 2011 Classified Employee of the Year

North Seattle Community College STARS (Staff Representatives) are pleased to announce that Carol Williams, who works in the College’s Upward Bound office, has been named the 2011 Classified Employee of the Year. Carol was honored at the May 10 Service Awards ceremony, receiving a certificate and gifts from STARS Chair Nancy Leverton.

Carol’s nomination states that in addition to her outstanding work in the Upward Bound office, Carol, as Chair of CDAC (Classified Development Advisory Committee), “participated in creating a vision and plan for implementing professional development in a way that celebrates learning and diversity… She remains passionate and focused on addressing issues that are relevant… adding value and purpose to our campus life.” Carol advocates for sustainability, diversity, and leadership skills for all staff. Carol was described by her colleagues as having, “a great sense of humor, presence, and passion that adds a lot to the NSCC campus community in both direct and subtle ways.”
