What does career success look like in today’s world? For students attending North Seattle College’s Launch & Succeed Speaker Series this year, the answer became far broader than a traditional career path.

Hosted by the Business & Accounting Department throughout the academic year, the four-part series connected students with entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and game changers who shared candid stories about career growth, overcoming obstacles, and finding success through adaptability and innovation.

The series focused on entrepreneurship, intrapreneurship, leadership, and emerging industry trends, giving students the opportunity to hear firsthand how professionals built careers that often looked very different from what they originally planned.

Rather than focusing only on job titles or degrees, speakers emphasized the importance of creativity, resilience, communication, and the ability to evolve in a constantly changing workforce.

Each session explored a distinct industry theme, including Entrepreneurship & Small Business, Career Launch & Marketing, Project Management: Innovation in Action, and Beyond the Blueprint: Paths to Real Estate. Offered in both Zoom and in-person formats, the events welcomed students from across Seattle Colleges and created space for networking, mentorship, and live discussion with professionals.

Students learned how entrepreneurs transform ideas into businesses, how marketing and personal branding shape opportunities, and how leadership and collaboration drive innovation across organizations. Speakers also shared practical insights into project management, business strategy, and evolving opportunities within the real estate industry.

One message consistently resonated throughout the series: there is no single path to success.

Speakers discussed the setbacks, career pivots, and personal challenges they encountered, helping students see that growth often comes from taking risks, embracing change, and staying open to new opportunities.

“Your career is more than a job search; it’s the story you learn to communicate with confidence,” shared one speaker during the Career Launch & Marketing session.

Beyond career advice, the series encouraged students to think more expansively about their future and to recognize how innovation can be applied across any field or industry. Whether students aspire to launch a business, lead projects, work in marketing, or enter real estate, the Launch & Succeed Speaker Series reinforced that success is built through continuous learning, adaptability, and meaningful connections.

The Launch & Succeed Speaker Series continues to grow as an experiential learning opportunity at North Seattle College, helping students build confidence, expand their professional networks, and explore new possibilities for their careers and future goals.
