Meet Karlin Krishnaswami and Yesica Paola Romero, former students in the Business Technology Management (BTM) program, now offered at North Seattle College.

From data analysis and artificial intelligence to business planning and digital tools, the BTM program helps students grow professionally and tackle real-world challenges, and it is both challenging and transformative.

Karlin calls her BTM experience “uniquely life-changing.” While she developed technical skills like Excel, the biggest impact came from the connections she made. After a guest speaker visited her class, she spoke with her afterward, which eventually led to a job opportunity. She credits program lead Robert Natoli for his support throughout the program. Karlin adds that while the program isn’t “an easy, walk-in-the-park,” it’s worth it for anyone looking to strengthen essential office skills or expand their business knowledge.

For Yesica, one of the most valuable parts of the program was learning how to turn data into “meaningful insights.” She also enjoyed projects where she developed a business idea and created a full business plan, which helped her “think more strategically about how a business works.” Coming from an accounting background, she says BTM helped her connect financial information with business decisions while building her analytical and problem-solving skills. She also highlights the supportive environment and mentorship, describing Robert Natoli as “a very reliable professor who truly cares about students’ learning progress and professional development.”

Both students emphasize that the program is more than coursework. Through practical skills, hands-on projects, and mentorship, BTM prepares students for real-world opportunities and challenges.
