Blasting Off: Students Hit Milestone in Pasco

Rocketry Club members holding rockets

Two North Seattle College Rocketry Club members earned their high-power rocketry Level 1 certification September 3 in Pasco, Washington.

Aislinn Radek and Ekum Ark (in photo) built, launched and successfully recovered their rockets to earn their certification from the National Association for Rocketry. In addition, Kelly Azevedo de Souza, Carolina Guiterrez and Keegan Lee also launched their high-power rockets, all to an altitude of 2,000 to 3,000 feet.

The Rocketry Club meets Wednesdays at noon in the Rocketry Shop in the College Center building. No experience in rocketry is necessary; all that is required is an interest in building a rocket or constructing its electronics or programming a command-and-control routine.

And congratulations, Aislinn and Ekum!
