Day of Remembrance 2021
Please join Seattle Colleges District for a Day of Remembrance - "Racism, Resilience, and Resistance: Executive Order #9066 in 2021". This event is open to all Seattle Colleges District students and employees - North, Central, South, and District. Join us for an exploration of the community impact of Japanese American imprisonment during World War II, its echo today, and contemporary anti-xenophobic activism. The panel discussion will feature Tom Ikeda, Executive Director, Densho; Paul Kurose, instructor, North Seattle College; Hamdi Mohamed, Policy Advisor, King County Office of Equity and Social Justice and special guest, Anna Sakaizawa Hasegawa - Jerome concentration camp survivor.
