NEW Proposed Rule WAC 132F-126: Required and Emergency Medical Leaves of Absence
This proposed rule addresses a need for the colleges to issue medical withdrawals to students who exhibit self-harm and cannot otherwise be accommodated through the interactive process while attending college.
A public hearing to receive comments will be held –
November 22, 2019

An overview of the proposed revisions will be provided by the Hearing Officer prior to taking comments. Written comments will be accepted until 5:00 pm on November 22, 2019. Following the hearing, the Hearing Officer will prepare a memorandum summarizing the testimony. The Chancellor’s Executive Cabinet will review the comments and written submissions. Pending action by the Board of Trustees on December 19, 2019, the new rule will become effective on January 19, 2020.
