Community Invited to Silent Art Auction and Sale Dec. 2

Employees, students and members of the community are invited to North Seattle College's 16th Annual Silent Art Auction and Sale on Wednesday, Dec. 2.

The North Seattle College Art Group is hosting the event, which brings artists from around the community together to sell their arts and crafts. The auction is scheduled for Dec. 2 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Green Room of the College Center Building.

Student Lindsey Walker’s Winning Streak in Writing

Lindsey Walker, an English major at North Seattle Community College, has won four awards this quarter for her writing – at both the local and national level. A prolific writer who hails from Chattanooga, Tennessee, she has received cash prizes and recognition for her poetry, fiction and essay writing.

Most recently, Lindsey won first place for her personal essay, “Chaos Theory,” in the 2010 -2011 League for Innovation National Student Literary Competition.

Stage One Theater presents Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors

Centered around two sets of identical twins mistakenly separated at birth, William Shakespeare’s play The Comedy of Errors is known for its farcical comedy. Now North Seattle Community College’s Stage One Theater takes this and adds another twist – setting the play in New Orleans during the American Civil War.

Four North Seattle Community College Students Win Literary Contest

Each year, the League for Innovation holds a national literary contest for community college students. The first round takes place at the district level and first place winners go on to compete against students across the country in four categories – one-act play, poetry, personal essay and short story. Four NSCC students have been named winners of the district level contest in Seattle.
