Bags for Bellies - Holiday Food Drive

STARS has been busy distributing plastic sacks to divisions/departments around campus for our Northwest Harvest fall fundraiser, Bags for Bellies.  

To make this fundraiser more exciting, you could win a great prize! All you have to do is return a full sack of non-perishable food to a STARS member or to a designated drop box and STARS will add your name into a raffle drawing taking place at the President’s Holiday Party on December 15.  Be sure to attach your name, department and phone extension to your sack of food.

1 filled sack = 1 raffle entry. Cash/check donations are welcome. $3 = 1 raffle entry. Enter as many times as you like!

Contribute Supplies for the Homeless

Michaelann Allen is asking for supplies for the North Helpline, which is one of PTK's community partners. Helpline needs toiletries, feminine hygiene products, and baby supplies like formula, diapers, wipes, etc., as well as tarps, sleeping bags and brand-new socks to help those facing cold weather as winter approaches.

North Seattle College Goes Tobacco-free Starting Fall Quarter

The North Seattle College campus became tobacco and smoke-free beginning September 28, 2015, the first day of Fall Quarter.

Discussions over whether the college should become a smoke-free campus have occurred since at least 1997. The college decided to go smokeless after significant study of the issue and recommendations by various committees, as well as passionate debate between those who feel smoking is a personal freedom issue versus those who feel smoking is a community health issue.
