Emergency Drill at Education Building April 20

The college will conduct a lockdown drill in the Education building only.

This drill will help us prepare in the event of a true emergency. During a lockdown, stay in a classroom or office, or move to a secure location if you are not already in one. Secure your location by locking or barricading the door and stay away from windows or other exposed areas. NO BUILDING EVACUATION IS REQUIRED DURING A LOCKDOWN.

May is Bike Month! Free Bike Commuting Workshop April 28

May is Bike Month!The weather's getting nice, which means Bike Month is almost here!

The Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) is partnering with Cascade Bicycle Club to provide a series of FREE bicycle education workshops for commuters who want to ride to North! 

Join us for a one hour presentation filled with helpful tips for new bike commuters. 

Topics will include:

  • Helmet fit
  • Gear
  • Route planning
  • Lane positioning
  • Safety tips
  • Navigating infrastructure
  • Fix a flat

Bring a lunch, learn new things and get ready to ride!

FREE Self Defense Workshops

The Wellness Center is offering FREE Self Defense Workshops, open to all of students, staff and faculty. If you are interested, please email Carianya Napoli with your name and the session/s you would like to attend. carianya.napoli@seattlecolleges.edu.

You may attend one, two or all three sessions. Each day will cover a different topic regarding self-defense techniques.

Apply for Ed Fund Scholarships for Fall

The NSC Education Fund is now accepting applications for our 2015-2016 student scholarships. Scholarships are available for currently-enrolled NSC students who are planning to attend North next school year. There is one general application for all scholarships, and all students are encouraged to apply. See the Ed Fund scholarship page on the North website for information about how to apply through our new AwardSpring application system.

The Public Arena: Public Art and Its Role in Community

North Seattle College's Art Gallery is presenting a new exhibit -- "The Public Arena: Public Art and Its Role in Community." The exhibit opens April 7 and runs through May 1, with opening receptions Tuesday, April 7 1-3 p.m. and 5-7 p.m.
