North Seattle Community College STARS (Staff Representatives) and the President’s Office announce the NSCC Golden Star Employee of the Quarter Award for winter 2011. On Tuesday, March 22, recipient Oleg Koltman from Math, Science and Social Sciences (MS3) was surprised when President Mitsui stopped by his desk to bestow the award. The happy occasion was witnessed by Executive Team members, Oleg’s dean, coworkers, and the STARS Committee.
Oleg was described vividly by his colleagues as someone who strives for the best, is kind and gentle even in times of chaos, is highly ethical, dependable, and goes out of his way - sacrifices - for the needs of his coworkers. Faculty explained, “Oleg … exemplifies the spirit of what an excellent employee is.”
