League for Innovation Literary Contest

League for Innovation Literary Contest hosted by the College District in Dallas, Texas. As in the past, this competition is limited to students only, and there are four categories:

Fiction

One-act play

Personal essay

Poetry.

Entries must be submitted BOTH electronically AND on hard copy to the respective coordinators/judges listed below, and the deadline is Tuesday, March 17 at 5 p.m. The theme is “More Than Words,” and the link below will lead students to the online application form. If there are any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me or one of the other coordinators.

As in the past, the contest is divided into two parts. First, there is a local competition, and subsequently an awards ceremony, which precedes the Board of Trustees meeting on June 11 at Seattle Central College at 2 p.m. Then the first-place winners in each category are sent on to the national competition in Dallas where they will be judged by professional writers in each genre.

The Seattle District has placed either first or second nationally in at least one category for six years running, a record of which we are extremely proud!
