Sculptor Akiko Jackson gives visiting artist lecture

NSCC welcomes sculptor AKIKO JACKSON for an artist lecture about her work

AKIKO JACKSON was born in Kahuku, Hawai’i and now resides and works on the east coast, USA. Akiko earned her MA from California State University, Northridge and an MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University, School of the Arts. Since then, she has had several artist residencies, including the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts, Lawrence Arts Center, Pottery Northwest, and Lo Studio dei Nipoti. Akiko’s awards include the Louise Bourgeois Endowed Fellowship from the Fine Arts Work Center, the Art Bridge Fellowship from the Pratt Fine Arts Center, the Artist Trust GAP Award, and the Archipelago Foundation Annual Residency.  Her work has been shown in exhibitions across the United States and internationally, and is in permanent collections in Los Angeles, Kansas City, and Seoul, Korea.
