Alum Receives National Award

North Seattle Community College graduate, and one of the college’s previous Distinguished Alumni Award winners, Vivyan Adair, has been selected to receive the 2010 Outstanding Alumni Award by the American Association of Community Colleges. This award is given annually to former students from community colleges that are making outstanding contributions in their chosen career fields and to their communities. Dr. Adair is a professor of Women’s Studies at Hamilton College in New York State where she has received multiple honors for outstanding teaching and support of students. She also developed and directs the ACCESS Project which assists disadvantaged parents out of poverty through higher education. She will be recognized at a ceremony at the AACC’s annual convention being held in Seattle in April.
