Global Impact is international service learning, sponsored by the Seattle Community Colleges. We do global health projects like running health clinics, providing health education and engaging infrastructure development related to public health. Our trips take place in August and generally last 2 weeks.
Hundreds of people have participated in the past 6 years. Anybody between the ages of 18-80 who is in good health is welcome to participate or apply to lead. Our District students and staff are joined on these projects by healthcare practitioners, public school teachers, lawyers, architects, police officers, firemen….and students from other institutions.
Please consider completing an application to lead Global Impact in Summer 2013! We have two new sites- and Peru will be back in Summer 2014.
*Health requirement: we go into some extreme hot climates, work at extremely high altitudes in Peru, and often need to walk distances between villages…on some of our projects. Our sites are “rustic.”
