Latina Symposium May 13

North Seattle College hosts the fourth Annual Latina Symposium May 13, 2017, from 10:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. on campus. The focus of this year's symposium is "Education: The Art of Growing." The symposium offers Latinas the opportunity to network, help others and get inspired to proceed to their next step in life. North Parent Education Faculty Analia Bertoni is the 2017 recipient of the Latina Symposium Manos Unidas’ award, to be presented at the event.

Bertoni is being recognized for her contribution to the advancement of the Latino community. For the last 15 years Bertoni has been a community organizer, mentor, trainer, event planner, facilitator and member of Seattle Schools District Advisory Board on community engagement. In all this work she has declared and encouraged the voices of parents. In her work as a facilitator with Quetzal’s Padres Promotores she gave parents tools and motivation to get engaged at their children’s schools. She was also part of ELLA, a leadership-training model that focused on Latinos and leadership.

The Latina Symposium is organized by volunteer Latinas, for Latinas, and it is conducted in Spanish. Participants will receive both support and ideas to give them energy for another year.  There will be three speakers and panelists. Join us to:
