New Program Trains Emergency Department Employees

NSCC Instructor a Leader in Open Educational Resources

Before the current state initiative began, NSCC was supporting the movement to provide free open educational resources online. Through a Seattle Community College District course development grant in 2009, Tim Fiegenbaum (full-time instructor in the Business, Engineering and Information Technology Division) created over 100 video tutorials (each around 5-10 minutes in length) on basic electronics topics. With the permission of our college and a textbook publisher (Cengage Learning, Inc.) and under a Creative Commons License, these videos were made freely

Fraud Detection program coming fall 2011

Stories about fraud, corruption and criminal manipulation of accounting records abound these days. Now accountants and other professionals can learn the skills needed to expose these crimes in NSCC’s new Accounting Fraud Certificate program. Starting in fall quarter 2011, the new 15-credit certificate program will offer three fully online courses — Fraud Examination, Forensic Accounting and Introduction to Financial Criminology.
