Amping Up the Electronics Program at North

Large federal grant will offer more students the necessary training to succeed and obtain excellent jobs in aerospace

North Seattle Community College (NSCC) has been awarded more than $1.1 million to expand and support the College’s electronics program as part of a $20 million state-wide consortium funded by the U.S. Department of Labor.

New IT-Controlled Electronics Programs Start This Fall

North Seattle Community College announces two new programs in IT Controlled Electronics beginning fall quarter 2011. The two-year Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree and one-year certificate integrate electronics and IT networking skills while building interpersonal skills to work with customers and co-workers.  

Students will learn the skills needed to install, maintain, trouble-shoot and monitor home/commercial systems that are networked or work remotely — security and entertainment systems and other home/office equipment that incorporates “smart” technologies.

White House Summit on Sustainable Growth is a Great Success

Business and Government Leaders Hosted by North Seattle Community College  

The Sustainable Growth Summit, led by the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) in partnership with North Seattle Community College and the State of Washington Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs, was held on July 8, 2011. Student Lindsey Walker’s Winning Streak in Writing

Lindsey Walker, an English major at North Seattle Community College, has won four awards this quarter for her writing – at both the local and national level. A prolific writer who hails from Chattanooga, Tennessee, she has received cash prizes and recognition for her poetry, fiction and essay writing.

Most recently, Lindsey won first place for her personal essay, “Chaos Theory,” in the 2010 -2011 League for Innovation National Student Literary Competition.

Phi Theta Kappa Students Recognized

Congratulations to North Seattle Community College’s Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) students, who recently received recognition for their chapter’s 5 Star development plan and college project. Alpha Epsilon Omega is the College’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK), the largest honor society in American higher education, with approximately 125,000 students inducted annually.

North Seattle Community College Launches 3-D Building Information Modeling Program
